August 27th Trexlertown, Pa

Spokes of Hope was given an incredible opportunity to celebrate life beyond cancer thanks to the support and assistance of Bicycling Magazine (Zack Grice) and the hospitality of Lehigh Valley Preferred Cycling Center  Velodrome (Marty Nothstein).

Members of Cyclists Combating Cancer came together on a mission to share and celebrate life at this incredible venue. Any time the CCC get together, the emotions and joy is high, and the magic that seems to happen is simply incredible.

On this night, Spokes of Hope came to lift up and celebrate a 7 year old boy and his family. The boy, Jack Knudson is a 3 year brain cancer survivor. Jack had just received a custom made adaptive bike this summer, and we were there to help him take a "Victory Lap" around the velodrome during the season finale' of the Racing season.

The combination of the lights, the love and the shear joy of living combined to make this a memorable experience for all who participated.

The opportunity for the Spokes of Hope team to get to learn how to ride the track, and then the thrill of riding under the Friday night lights with a crowd of spectators clapping, cheering and banging on the boards was a dream come true for more than just Jack!

Camaraderie and passion were the flavors of the day...

The Spokes of Hope representatives demonstrated incredible teamwork in carrying out their mission.

Flyers were handed out, experiences in the Battle against cancer were shared, and Hope was spread.

As President of Spokes of Hope, I cannot tell you how incredibly proud I was to see this all come together and that faith in the human spirit is restored. There are not only good people out there... there are real great Heroes among us who are so giving and selfless in carrying out this mission... I feel incredibly blessed.

A special "Thank You" to all who made this Spoke possible... As in the battle against cancer, Success cannot be achieved alone. And as we strive to spread hope, we are repeatedly rewarded in getting to witness first hand the power of human kindness.
